I try to buy shoes that are both nice-looking and will wear well, since I have boys who are hard on their shoes. This shoe is holding up nicely so far, and the unique velcro closure is easy for my 5-year-old to do up and undo.

I ordered this for my son who was hooked on ther Merrell Moab hiking boot. He wanted to wear the hiking boats all spring and summer long, I finally convinced him to order this short version (the shoe version) and he loves them! Merrell is a favorite!

I was a little hesitant to spend this much money on a shoe for my ever growing 6 year old son, however, we LOVE these shoes. There is really something to say for a good pair of shoes. Although he knows how to tie laces, it was a little time consuming in class to tie and untie his shoes throughout the day due to having gym class 5 days a week. He LOVES these shoes. I did order a half size up to accommodate a little grow spurt.
