Merrells for the summer March 20, 2013 Reviewer: Craig from Nebraska Shoe Size: Felt true to size Shoe Width: Felt true to width I have a pair of the hightop waterproof Merrells that I wear in the winter. I am a streetrodder and attend a lot of swap meets and huge car events where we do a lot of walking. I broke my foot and it healed wider that it was. So I need a wider shoe than before and I need more ankle support. I bought the wide Ventilator and I am totally satisfied with it. My older Merrells are broken in so they are OK not being wide. So now I have a pair for winter and a pair for summer. Wears this shoe: When its above freezing and Im doing a lot of walking.

Very comfortable February 20, 2013 Reviewer: Ebb from Indiana Shoe Size: Felt true to size Shoe Width: Felt narrower than marked I have a heck of a time finding comfortable shoes due to a high instep and a long arch. Merrell shoes in general, and the Ventilator in particular have made finding shoes that fit a lot easier. As far as wear goes, they last a long time. My low cut version of the Ventilator is used as my "work" shoe and they outlast a pair of athletic shoes two to one. The only negative is I can't wear traditional leather work boots anymore due to the lack of comfort. The Merrell's wear like a work boot with the comfort of an athletic shoe. Wears this shoe: Hiking, yard work.

Almost like a boot January 12, 2013 Reviewer: Contractor from Camp Lejeune, NC Shoe Size: Felt half size larger than marked Shoe Width: Felt true to width I purchased the Moab Ventilator to use when I was working in Afghanistan in 2011 on a security contract. The Ventilator worked great for what I was doing. Since then I've been working on a contract training Marines getting them ready for Special Operations. I was required to have a higher cut shoe than the Moab Ventilator so I purchased the Moab Ventilator Mid. I purchased the same size as the low cut version, 9.5 Wide. The Mid was too large so I exchanged it for a half size smaller, 9 Wide. I tried it on and it seemed still a little large. My large toe was an inch behind the toe box. I decided to keep the 9 Wide fearing a 8.5 Wide would be slightly too small, causing my large toe to hit the front of the shoe. During the first 4 mile run carrying 45 lb packs, I had no problem with the Mid. The only reason I didn't give the Moab Ventilator Mid a 5 star rating is because I feel it's just a little too heavy. From past experiences I know that when it gets wet, it will absorb a lot of water making it heavier. Try running 10 miles with a 45 lb pack with wet boots. If they could decrease the weight of the shoe and use better material that would not retain water, I would give the Moab Ventilator Mid the highest rating. If they succeeded in making a lighter shoe or using better material to minimize water retention I would give it a 5 star rating. Wears this shoe: When I work
