Great Light Hiking Boot
By Gwen, from Dayton, OH | January 08, 2013
I read the reviews for this boot before buying it and am glad I paid attention to those who suggested to order a half size larger- I did and they're so comfortable! They didn't need breaking in, although it feels a bit "flat" to walk in compared to the other hiking boot brand I'm used to. I only wish they came up on my ankle a bit higher. They're a great boot for light hikes, yet I'm not sure they'll give the ankle support needed for rugged, rocky terrain.

Great shoe - no break-in needed!
By DT, from Hawaii | December 19, 2012
Wanted a good hiking shoe and this one sure meets expectations so far. It didn't come in wide width, but was pleasantly surprised that the width fits fine. Very comfortable from the beginning. Haven't had the opportunity to test the waterproof feature yet.

Fine
By Clover, from Texas | January 06, 2012
A perfectly fine, ugly, rugged, water resistant hiking shoe. Fit is somewhat snug; if you're on the line, order up. Keeps feet dry when gallivanting through wet grass. As with all Goretex shoes, feet need to be given frequent airings to keep them from shriveling. A pity all hiking shoes are universally horrible-looking.

perfect for Aspen
By Boots, from Indy | September 19, 2011
This was a great purchase for my trip out west. Break in time was minimal and couldn't have made the hikes without the boots. Waterproof helped too.

Not waterproof
By Candace, from Bethesda, Maryland | May 30, 2011
The style of this shoe is nice and the comfort is good; however, it is not waterproof. First day that I wore them in wet conditions, my sock was wet and I had to dry them out. Ankle support is good so I will wear them in conditions that are mostly dry. I have a pair of Asolo hiking boots that are gortex and my socks never get wet. I don't understand why these gortex shoes are not waterproof as advertised.

Happy Hiker
By Lucketts W, from Leesburg, Virginia | January 06, 2011
I couldn't be happier with this shoe. It is very comfortable, flexible, and stable. I normally wear a wide width, and Merrells have historically been too narrow for me, so this shoe will probably be a little wide for a B-width foot.

Perfect Hiking Boot
By Sister-in-law of a trailblazer, from Shenandoah Valley, VA | January 04, 2011
I bought this shoe for my sister-in-law for Christmas and she loved them. I had accidently ordered her a half size larger than her normal shoe size, but the half size bigger was exactly what she needed. She loved the shoes and you can't beat the quality of Merrell shoes. Thanks!
