Great shoes. Took them hiking in Arches National Park, very comfortable. The shoes make kind of a crinkly noise that was annoying at first, but can't be noticed when you're outside. I think it's the gore-tex.

This is a nice looking, easy walking shoe. I put them on for the first time and walked a mile - it was just like I had been wearing them regularly for months. After three miles over the weekend, they felt like an old pair of favorite shoes.

They are generally comfortable but a bit warm even in mild temperatures,probably due to waterproofing. The sizing seems small

This pair of Merrell XCR replaced my old pair of Northface XCR, which I do not recommend. Merrell is more comfortable and better fit (true to size). The waterproof Gore Tex is ideal in damp situations. This shoe is lightweight, yet has good traction.
