I bought this shoe to hike the Appalachian Trail in. I researched a very long time and thought these seemed the best fit for me. I have been doing some small hiking trips in them to get used to them and they have been great so far. The 90+ mile trip of the Georgia section of the A.T. is set for late March, so I guess that will be the real test.

Merrell makes a quality shoe. The only thing I would mention is this does not have alot of insulation for those of you who dont wear wool socks.

I love this shoe. It has great feel and is built solid. Extra rubber protection on toes and heels will keep shoes looking sharper longer. It is a very comfortable shoe.
