I actually bought them for my daughter. The light grey is kind of shinny and I might be hesitant to buy this exact shoe for a boy even though they are boy shoes. My daughter loves them because they are like a tennis shoe without having to wear socks.

My 4.5 yr old son loves his Merrell's, they fit well and are very well constructed and comfortable. They are very rugged, looks like they will still be in beautiful shape by the time he grows out of them. Also, looks like they will go into the washing machine, but I haven't tried that yet.
