Likes: Excellent arch & ankle support. Breath ability wicks away moisture from sweat & keeps the feet cool while walking/hiking. Sole of hiking boot makes one maintain stride and traction correctly; thus, keeping balance and stability while walking/hiking over diverse terrain. Gore-Tex keeps feet dry and comfortable on wet and sloppy ground conditions.Dislikes: Tongue on right boot where the upper portion is stitched to lower part is unraveling and separating at seam. Boots will need to be replaced. May be a quality control issue.Why purchased: First: Merrell quality, reliability, and reputation for aforementioned. Second: Excellent support for ankles while walking/hiking. Third: Arch support and stability. Fourth: Durability of boots for all conditions to be encountered while walking/hiking over mountain terrain, rough woodland paths & trails, as well as every day walking/hiking encountered on personal property.
