Love these shoes as everyday walking shoes. Wear them walking to work as they have great treads, support and are warm too.

Approach shoe, winter shoe, casual shoe

I intended this shoe to wear on rainy camping trips, in winter and for light hiking. With its smooth dark leather and neat finish, it is also very suitable as a rugged "casual" shoe.I have never worn bigger than a size 14 shoe, but I had to order a size 15 in this shoe. (I returned a size 14 which was way small.) However the "15" fit great. The foot bed is amazingly comfortable-- a pleasure to wear. I was concerned that it would be too wide, but if anything it's narrow... but just what I want for hiking, so there's no side-to-side movement and friction.I also thought it might be too warm, with the GoreTex lining, etc. It's not; I actually need wool socks for extended wear in cold weather. So, I'm expecting it will be pretty comfortable even in summer. The quality of the shoe looks equal to my hiking boots that I've had for 20 years. I suspect these will last just as long.

I needed to go up one full size to get the proper length/width in the toebox. With the factory insole the shoe has a fit that is a bit sloppy. I use Superfeet insoles. With these the fit is very good. I now wear these seven days a week.
