I had a hard time finding good hiking boots for my son who camps and hikes in all kinds of weather with Boy Scouts. I ordered these because I love my Merrells.They took no breaking in, are very comfortable and are waterproof! Great boot!My only complaint is the shoelaces. They are skinny and don't stay tied very well. I replaced the laces with another pair of hiking laces from WalMart and now they are perfect!
Wears this shoe: Campouts in all kinds of weather.

My daughter wore this same boot right out of the box to hike 20 miles over 3 days and it was perfect. No blisters, no breaking-in time. Sturdy and comfortable (she would definitely let us know if there was any discomfort.) We purchased this one to replace the same one that she outgrew, because we knew how good it was.

I do like the boot. My son says that they are really comfortable. They are easy to get on. The only concern I have is that when my son takes them off the inside of the boot is damp. I don't think they are all that great at being waterproof. Will have concerns when he goes camping and hiking.

We went camping just 2 days after receiving these hiking boots, and they really got broken in. My son trekked through water, mud and no telling what else and I just brushed them off when we got home. They look like new again! I would highly recommend to friends and family. This was my first experience with Merrells, but definitely not the last!
Wears this shoe: My son wears them all the time.
