Good but not great April 05, 2013

I bought these to replace a beat up pair of Merrell Pandora Breeze which have been discontinued. They feel heavier and less cushiony than the Pandoras but they are still a very good, comfortable shoe for walking/hiking on unpaved trails. I usually wear a size 9 but ordered 9.5 based on customer reviews. They fit perfectly so they do run a little small.

Have had high hope but ended up in return! April 05, 2013

I was looking for a pair of lite weight hiking shoes and love the style a lot. They seems to be very well build and sturdy for rough terrain and very light weight. The color seashores I ordered are very attractive. However, the tongue of the shoes are very rigid and sharp. They keep digging into my skin every step I walked! They should have just used the fabric materials instead. Needless to say, they ended up in return.

I sprained an ankle and have since developed problems with arch and arthritis. With this boot, I am on the move again! I can imagine how great they would feel for someone without foot problems. I did add an orthotic from the Doc, but had I not had this issue, the insoles that came in the boot would be more than adequate, for comfort and support. We've had some miserable weather this winter and my feet have been warm and dry. I feel very sure footed and stable in these boots. I just ordered Columbia boots to try.....they are going back and I'm in a hurry to order another pair of these. Size 11 in the Merrell boots look not so bad, ( and that's saying a lot) But in the Columbia boots, they look like 3 sizes bigger! I'm very happy with these boots!
Wears this shoe: all the time that I dont need a dressy shoe.

Great Light Hiking Boot January 08, 2013
Reviewer: Gwen from Dayton, OH
I read the reviews for this boot before buying it and am glad I paid attention to those who suggested to order a half size larger- I did and they're so comfortable! They didn't need breaking in, although it feels a bit "flat" to walk in compared to the other hiking boot brand I'm used to. I only wish they came up on my ankle a bit higher. They're a great boot for light hikes, yet I'm not sure they'll give the ankle support needed for rugged, rocky terrain.
