Mephisto shoes were recommended to me about a year ago, and I now have 3 pair - these, and 2 pair Baduards. Your feet will thank you. I am a physician, on my feet most of the day. Definitely worth the money.

I bought a pait of Tymons for traveling to Italy last fall and was more than pleasantly surprised. They wore better than expected when walking in the hilly towns. Being an avid hiking boot wearer, these loafers greatly surprised me. They are packed light, and were rugged enough for country wear and fit well for dress wear. Being the most I ever spent on a pair of loafers I and was a bit sceptical of their value. After 5 months I am ready to buy another pair in a different color.

Like all Mephisto shoes I've ever owned, the Tymon model is instantly comfortable. Because this is a slip-on and therefore fits a little looser than lace-up shoes, I find that it fits better when I'm wearing thicker socks. In any case, I bought this pair specifically to wear when traveling through airport security. I'm fed up with having to hurriedly lace and unlace my shoes and this pair is quickly pulled off and on. Although Mephisto makes other loafer-style shoes, I was looking for something that would be rugged enough for some light hiking as well as attractive enough to wear with a sport coat. This pair seems to fit the bill perfectly.
