The latex-mouse used in the design of the innersoles of all MEPHISTO shoes is your guarantee of exceptional comfort at all times.
The built-in layer of "latex-mousse" in the soles offers the entire body the sensation of walking on a "carpet made of soft cusions".
Gore-Tex® linings are the perfect answer to keep feet dry and perfectly breathable.
Gore-Tex® membrane prevents water from penetrating the shoes but at the same time allowing for perspiration to move out of its microscopic pores, thus giving the foot a dry and comfortable environment.
Fit:
This style is available in whole sizes only and tends to run small. If you normally order a 1/2 size it is recommended that you order the next full size up. For example, if you normally purchase a size 6 1/2 we recommend purchasing a size 7.

Comfort is my shoe-buying priority. Previous purchases, in Australia, of Mephisto sandals proved their superior comfort and practicality. I find I prefer wearing them to any other brands I have owned. The footbed is much softer. and I feel some reluctance taking them off when I arrive home, even after a long day on my feet. They are sturdy but light and stylish. The Sydel is particularly pretty. Wasn't able to find it in Australia, so Shoebuy was my only option for getting the shoes I had been desiring for 12 months. Perfect fit. I have a high instep, but was still able to loosen the instep strap two notches, so there is still plenty of adjustment for when the strap stretches a bit with wear. The shoes feel great, and look cute - a delight to wear! (Last year's much-worn Mephisto sandals are still going strong, so this was an indulgent purchase.)

I have worn this style of shoes for about four years now. This is the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn while being flat-footed. This is my second pair of the black color. I have red; tan; white; gold; pink; and I may have the silver pair as well. If not, I will have the silver ones next year. I broke my ankle in several places in December, and I don't know what I would do without these shoes now as my foot will continue to swell for another year or so. I always hate when winter arrives and I have to find something else to wear, since nothing compares to these shoes. I would wear them all year if my toes could stay warm. I live in Alabama, but recommended these shoes to a co-worker in Anaheim, CA. We were both at a convention last week, and both of us were wearing our black Sydels. She had the tan also. She loves the shoe also. I highly recommend these shoes.

I bought a pair of the same shoes in silver last summer and had to get the black ones. These are the most comfortable shoes that I have ever worn, and I tell everyone that you can walk for hours in them in COMFORT. This is an excellent shoe.
