Mephisto Helen Plus
Helen Plus not the same quality as regular Helen
April 24, 2013
Reviewer: JH from San Jose, CA
I ordered both the Helen and Helen Plus because I heard that the regular width ran a bit narrow. When I received the shoes and compared them, the Helen Plus was indeed a bit wider but, in my opinion, made of lower quality materials (i.e., the soft-air footbed wasn't soft and cushiony, the suede footbed covering a different, unattractive tan color and rougher, the leather straps very stiff and the hole for your big toe a bit tight and because the leather was so stiff, it rubbed on my toe, ouch!). I ended up keeping the regular width sandals and sending the Helen Plus back because there truly wasn't that much of a difference in width to justify the difference in quality. Mephisto should think about charging a bit more for the Helen Plus and using the same, high-quality materials as the regular Helen.
