The shoe fits very well and looks good with everything from slacks to jeans. Leather is exceptionally soft and the soles are like pillows. The great thing about Mephisto shoes is the ability to get them resoled and reconditioned to an "almost new" condition. The heels take a while to wear in. I suffered with some blisters at first, but the fit gets better the more you wear the shoes. I recommend wearing them around the house for short periods to break them in. I usually wear a 9.5 US shoe size, but wear an 8.5 with Mephisto. I have the Dieter and Gaetan. Both are size 8.5 US.
