Like most Marmot items, the Afterburner provides superior value compared to other technical gear companies such as The North Face, Mountain Hardware and Arc Teryx. I love this jacket and wear it constantly in the cooler months of the year. Normally when the weather is between 60 and 35 degrees F. Even lower if active.First, this piece is meant as an outer layer on cool days and can be worn under a shell for additional warth and weather protection. Therefore, do not expect to be wearing multiple layers under this jacket. Not designed for that. It is the second layer. The fit is good and like most makers now, it is made in China. However, it seems Marmot is doing a better job with quality control than some other brands using Chinese producers.Bottom Line this is the best value in windstopper jackets if you don't need an technical piece. If you do need the additional functionality, then the Mountain Hardware Tech Jacket is probably the best bet.
