This is a great boot, very sleek looking and warm in the winter. The width and the calf is pretty narrow and i have small calves. It is fine with skinny jeans and thin socks but not much leeway.

I bought it because I like penny loafers and this is one of the few available in brown. The problem is the sole, which is modeled after hiking boots. It's totally out of character with the style of the shoe. The square toe is also a rather silly design flaw.

This sure is moderately hardy in texture, so it is adaptable to many situations--work or casual wear, and it protects your feet well. At the same time it is quite light in weight. And yes, it is comfortable. Perhaps the demerit that would not give these shoes a perfect 5 is the sole of the shoe. The sole gets easily dusty, giving the sole a dirty look. The way to get around this it to often polish the black sole. A minor demerit is the oily and thin laces. They are slippery and can easily become lose; so you would have to get accustomed to tying them tightly. Otherwise, the sole is a good, medium size height, the leather is sturdy and easily polishable, the shoes are attractive and have their unique look.Jonathan
