Product Description (Men's Lowa Trekker)
LOWA's legendary trekking boot gives maximum comfort and superb close to the foot fit. The boot is made of climate-control insole and the upper is 2.44 mm water repellant nubuck.
The "C4" lacing system increases your walking comfort. Some of the features are: Asymmetrical padding which is thicker towards the outside of the foot. Recessed ankle areas which mean the inside is higher than the outside. Flexible curved insert towards the inside of the foot and soft edging on the upper end.
The boot has a raised scree collar on the inside for better support. The ankle section of men's boot is set at a 2 degree outward angle to give a perfect fit with the lower calf, improving the rolling motion. The lining of the shoe is made with comfort leather.
The outsole is constructed of Vibram® "M-Tec". The sole add comfort with polyurethane mid-sole and pronation/supination zones. It is specially designed for comfort when walking and trekking in medium-difficulty mountain terrain.
Fit:
This style tends to run wide. If you have a narrow foot, for an accurate fit we recommend purchasing a 1/2 size smaller than you typically purchase. For example, if you normally purchase a size 7 1/2, we recommend purchasing a size 7.

I purchased this boot for the leather lining. It is very comfortable, and requires no break-in period. It is the only leather-lined hiking boot I have found in recent years. I wear them for everyday use, going shopping, walking on the treadmill, etc. The above-the-ankle height gives lots of support to the ankles, which is great for senior citizens like myself. I would recommend these boots to anyone. Besides all that, they look good also.

This is the third pair of lowas that I have owned, the three most recent I have owned! They are great boots. They are top quality leather and sturdy. I do a lot of hiking, camping, and backpacking. These boots stand up to extended trips and are very supportive. The glove leather liner is very comfortable. Shoebuy is great with exchanges and the tracking was good too. I've hiked hundreds of miles in lowa boots and if you take care of them they will take care of your feet!

I bought the Lowa Trekker to be a general purpose hiking boot. They are comfortable and have a solid build but too very heavy and hot for a general purpose hiking boot. They are more suited for rugged mountain use. They are far too hot to wear in warm weather conditions so therefore are more suited to cold weather. However they will be great for non-technical mountaineering but in the meantime I will need to get a lightweight hiking boot suited for light and fast hiking. They also have a narrow fit but that suits my foot. If you have a normal width foot, get the wider version.

I have worn Lowa trekkers for 22 years, mostly hiking in rugged terrain in the Alps. These boots are simply amazing. If you get the right size (I have a wide foot), they fit like a glove. They are comfortable all day, flexible enough for vigorous walking yet firm and stable enough for rocky and icy terrain, and they last a long time. Eventually the leather goes if you don't take care of it (that's me, I'm afraid) but at that point the soles have gone too. These boots are not Goretex, but they are pretty darn waterproof. And just as importantly for me, they work well in both cold and hot conditions. The leather lets your feet breathe properly, so you don't end up with sweaty, aching feet at the end of a sunny day. Every time a I slip these boots on I feel safe, balanced, comfortable and ready to go.
Wears this shoe: Whenever I hike, including six weeks in the Alps each summer.

The Lowa Trekker (Narrow) seems well made. The all leather interior is very comfortable. Support seemed at least adequate. However, when they say "narrow," they mean both vertical "width" and side to side width. For me, the side to side worked, but the shoe did not have enough room in the toe box top to bottom. As a result, it pinched down across the top of my foot where the big toe meets the ball of the foot. At first, the possibility existed that this problem was just a break-in issue, but it has persisted beyond that point. The Trekker does require some break-in time. The shoe gets 4 stars because it seemed like it would have worked well if it had fit my foot. Lots of other shoes don't work for me either.
Wears this shoe: Not much due to fit. I had intended to use it on day hikes.
