The leather lining on these are amazingly breathable and comfortable once broken in. The leather takes quite a bit longer to break in, so expect a 100 hour break-in before you can truly appreciate their comfort. These are the ultimate hot weather hiking/work boot. This model is made in Italy, and like other Italian boots, they have a very secure heel pocket, and run about 1/4 to 1/2 of a size narrow. Their construction, like all LOWA boots, are top notch.

This boot is made of the finest quality material and meticulous craftsmanship you could want in any footwear, including a trekking boot. What else would you expect from the Italians. In case you didn't look close, this boot is made in Italy. I live and hike in Arizona, where warm weather footwear is cherished, so a boot of this caliber without GORE-TEX is a find in itself. I'm not new to boots or hiking; over 50 and have worn out many brands. This boot is light, pig skin lined (no seams or pressure points to irritate feet or create blisters), stiff soled to support a forty pound backpack with excellent ankle support. I've logged several miles on some really craggy rocks with no damage to the soles yet. I found the boot to run, in my opinion, a half size smaller than marked. This boot is simply functional, comfortable and quality. What else can be said? They are worth the money!

These boots fit me perfectly, which is sometimes difficult having a narrow foot. Comfortable and sturdy enough to carry a decent pack. Would recommend highly.
