Lowa Renegade III GTX Mid
Great boot, little small.

This is a great boot. Solid and supportive, but comfortable from the first hike. I wore out a pair of Dunham 11EE boots which are made to New Balance lasts and bought 11 wide, but my toe hit and I had to change up to the 11.5. The insole isn't very supportive so I added some Superfeet Green F (11.5-13) which I trimmed and my feet are extremely happy.

Lowa Zephyr Desert Mid TF
Finally wore em out

I bought these boots a little over two years ago. Luckily I did some research and ordered a half size larger than I normally wear. They were very comfortable right out of the box. These were my first choice for a non-Gortex boot which would not be too warm in hot climates. If you are looking for a boot to keep your feet dry, buy the Gortex model. I only have two minor negative comments about the boot. The laces were terrible. They didn't slide easily through the eyelets and wore out easily. The laces suck, but it's an easy fix. My second complaint is that I think they are about the ugliest boot out there. Having said that, I bought a second pair. The soles finally wore out on the first pair and split across the ball of my foot. These boots were primarily worn in rugged rocky terrain with a lot of thorny vegetation. The sole was sticky enough to prevent slipping on rock faces. I never had a thorn pierce the sole and puncture my foot. Ankle support was adequate during extended humps, CQB, helo ops and standing around on the flat range. I feel as though I got my money's worth, as I really abused them. The only care I gave the boots was from the business end of a water hose. When I first examined them, I expected the sole to separate from the boot but it never did. I've read reviews from others who complain about separation, but mine held up well. Several of my buddies have them and no one has experienced a separation. Everyone loves these boots.

Lowa Creek II GTX
Great boots!

Excellent boots from an excellent manufacturer. This is the second pair of Lowa boots I've owned, and I'll always get Lowa from now on. These boots in particular are as light as feathers and just as comfortable. The height of the boot makes for a very secure fit and ankle support is ample. Highly recommended winter boot.

I have a big wide foot and have a hard time finding 14W so usually have to wear a 15 to get fit at all. And those are usually a little tight. Glad to see lowa making a wide boot in this size. I found this boot and it is by far the best fitting boot I have ever worn. Pretty stiff sole but broke in easily. Just the right amount of support and flexibility for my what I need it for. Hiking, mountain and desert hunting and backpacking.
