Comfortable and good walker

I tried the Scarpa Inverno first, but just couldn't get a fit at the instep no matter what I did. I think I have more or less flat feet. Next on the list was the Koflach, but I heard it also has a high instep. So, I gave the Lowas a shot and I'm glad I did. Fit is near perfect with the usual two layers of socks after I sized the boot one and a half sizes larger than my street shoes. I got this boot first for a glacier training course in the Cascades then for Aconcagua. It has a well insulated insert and so far it's been a good walker. To get that performance the tongue and lower shin areas have closure flaps (not a solid seal), but there's a webbing at the front of the tongue, and with gaiters I expect it'll stay dry inside. The flaps also make it a lot easier to get the boot on than others with a completely sealed front. On very cold mornings, that's a big plus.
