This is a classic seamless leather backpacking boot. It is a lightweight alternative with sturdy backpacking sole and full rubber rand for durability and leather lining for close to the foot fit.
The Vibram® "Tsavo" sole have a self-cleaning profile which gives excellent grip on all types of ground. The braking helps with impact and rigidity zones. Also features a shock-absorbing polyurethane mid-sole for a high degree of walking comfort and 360 degrees of multi-traction.
The "C4" lacing system increases your walking comfort. Some of the features are: Asymmetrical padding which is thicker towards the outside of the foot. Recessed ankle areas which mean the inside is higher than the outside. Flexible curved insert towards the inside of the foot and soft edging on the upper end.
The Asymmetric Walking Position (AWP) is another great feature of this boot. It has a raised collar on the inside for better support. The ankle section of men's boot is set at a 2 degree outward angle to give a perfect fit with the lower calf, improving the rolling motion.

The Banff boots are great looking but after wearing them for the first time, my right heel was very sore from my orthidics rubbing in the back of my boot. My orthidic guy is trying to hopefully fix the problem.

These are very comfortable and well constructed from out of the box. The leather is very soft around your ankles. They feel lighter than they look. I bought these to hike around in as I am a Boy Scout Leader and needed a better shoe for ankle support than my tennis shoe light hikers. Also, our meeting place is in the woods on hilly terrain and this boot is great for that. I can just brush the Georgia clay right off if they get dirty.

I fell in love with this boot. It didn't take long to break in and is very comfortable. I've never had a boot that supported as well as this one. On rough trail, it's a real winner

I wanted a narrow boot that could stand up to backpacking on rough terrain and easy scrambling. I'd heard good things about Lowa boots, but had never tried them. They definitely live up to their reputation for craftsmanship and comfort. The interior leather is soft as butter. I took them out of the box, wore them on a two-mile hike and came home without even a red spot. I'm now looking to buy a lighter weight Gortex-lined Lowa for casual walking. One caution, these shoes run large. I wear a 9 running shoe and an 8 1/2 boot. I had to go down to an 8.
