L.B. Evans

In 1804, T. & A. Evans (Thomas and Amos) were running a small shoe business connected with a general store in the town of South Reading. There was no shoe factory as we know it today, just a small shop where Thomas and Amos cut the leather for their shoes. The actual shoe making was farmed out among the people of the town, Thomas and Amos supplying them with uppers, soles, counters and heels to be assembled into shoes. All shoes were sewed by hand whenever the shoemaker-farmers could spare the time. Today L.B. Evans is owned and operated as a division of Daniel Green Enterprises. Many of the traditional gentleman's slipper styles are still part of the line, but the business has grown to include new updated classics, premium products including elk and deer, and an array or rugged, warm outdoor styles. Daniel Green Enterprises remains committed to the quality and comfort guarantee that the Evans brothers established over 200 years ago.

I needed a comfortable slip on that was made strong enough to wear outside and drive in to go on small errands. Nice style and durable.

L.B. Evans Klondike

If a style shoe has the same name but different color you would expect it to fit the same. the brown slipper has a different insole, making it fit tighter.

New Slippers
By Diana, from Littleton, Colorado | March 14, 2014

I bought these slippers for my husband who has worn LB Evans slippers before. Although this is a little different style, it still was a great fit for him and warm in the cold weather. He really likes how they feel and fit.

Almost a five, 4.75 stars for sure
By Darryl, from Cincinnati, Ohio USA | March 07, 2014

These are 95% of what I was looking for. I had to send the size 11-EEE back because they were too big whereas I had thought I needed to order the larger size than I wear (10.5). Wrong! Returning the larger size was painless enough. Had to place a new order for the 10.5-EEE. The fit will require some breaking in, as any new leather show will, but I've found them to be quickly comfortable. I have to remember to take them off before venturing outside. Great shoe-like support, which is exactly what I wanted.

Shoebuy Insider on L.B. Evans Slippers

L.B. Evans began when shoemaking was a craft, when each footwear component, including heels, counters, soles, and uppers, was delicately hand cut and sewn to assure quality and comfort in every pair. Founded by the Evans family in Vermont in the early nineteenth century, and special for its collaboration with local farmer-citizens, who assembled components supplied by the Evans, the L.B. Evans brand is known for its slipper heritage and quality commitment. Though the company has evolved from its handsewn roots, the assurance of quality and comfort in every pair of L.B. Evans slippers and moccasins continues.

When you're at home, you should be comfortable. Returning from a hard day's work, it is gratifying to find your way into a pair of L.B. Evans slippers. You know it; I know it; the Evans, including Thomas, Amos, James, Lucius, and Harvey knew it; nothing quite beats the feeling of a good pair of slippers. So, step into a pair of L.B. Evans and your feet will feel comfortably at home.
