I ordered the wides since I have a tall rise and feared getting them on would be a problem. They are sturdy and wonderful boots!!

Just what I was looking for in a boot!

I have to admit I was looking for something special -- I am in a Civil War reenactment band, and wanted a boot that would pass as a 19th Century boot. So this boot is perfect -- it's not a 'cowboy boot' in appearance, with a low heel and not a pointed toe -- and it is comfortable, easy on the feet and even had room for my orthotics. The workmanship and quality means I'll have these a long time, and I'm glad for that. I don't mean that it is not a classy boot when I say it's perfect for what I need it for -- it resembles the high quality of footwear from when the art of boot-making was the norm. My decision was based on my special needs, but my appreciation of its quality is based on, of all things, its quality. This is a good boot.
Wears this shoe: When playing a concert or dance in Civil War garb.
