These were exactly what my husband needed for a casual outdoor shoe. They are comfortable, supportive, don't rub, quick to slip on or off and perfect for the beach.

Shoe Size: Felt true to size Shoe Width: Felt true to width First off, I live in Arizona, where people can (and do) wear sandals year round.That said, I've worn a pair of Keen's Waimea sandals pretty much every day for more than 4 years. This pair (with the recycled inner tube strap) is my 3rd. My wife has had a few pairs as well, and we've bought them for many friends and family members.They're as easy to put on and take off as any flip-flop/thong/slide, but the foot bed provides more structure and arch support than most other sandals. The front rubber toe styling actually provides noticeable protection for the first 2 or 3 toes and will save you from stubbing your toes. The material on the inside of the strap is soft, not stiff or abrasive -- there's a lining inside the inner tube material that's similar to neoprene.They're "waterproof" in the sense that water won't damage the shoe, but obviously your feet can still get wet. I wear mine rain or shine, summer and (Phoenix) winter. I find them cool in the heat, and fairly (oddly?) warm in the cold. The soles are grippy enough. They last a long time -- 2+ years of daily use.They do have the center "thong" bit between the first and second toes. Though this affords some additional stability and control over the shoe, if you can't tolerate this and find a thong sandal uncomfortable, then this shoe is not for you.This shoe is uniquely styled and somewhat eye-catching. My wife and I are periodically stopped by strangers to ask us about our Keen Waimeas.
