I wanted a second, more colorful pair of Newports for a trip to Croatia, where we would be walking on cobblestones and "living" on a boat. Both pairs have been terrific, although not graceful looking on my size 11 feet. I don't care, as they're always comfortable, "breathe" but are fairly covered, and tolerate being in water (rocky Lake Erie one time) with no ill effects. Very good arch support, as well.
Wears this shoe: All summer, sometimes to work (in schools), and on vacation.

I love them but after 10-12 hours on my feet my bone behind my little toe will hurt--for days sometimes. I try to wear them shorter hours every now and then to break in my feet but I think maybe my feet are not made for these cool shoes! Sad but still like them! I will still wear them rafting.

Love the quality. Not like a lot of catalogue sandals that look similar but lack the quality. Fits well, in fact true to size. Comfortable and practical in the warm weather around town and to and from the beach and/or pool. I bought a pair for my young son after my purchase.
