This shoe is very comfortable and performed well on simple hikes as well as when carrying a full pack. The low-cut style allows for a more natural gait than a high-top boot does. The tread is great on trails, but watch out if walking on a slick, hard surface, like frost-covered wood planking!

I walk on the Men's Keen Alamosa WP 12 km per day (7.45 muiles) 5 days a week, and all weekend. It is very comfortable and causes no blisters on long walks (wouldnt wear anything else). On the web site the shoe is not recommended for city walking, I have no idea why, as I do at least 70 km (43 miles) of city walking a week, I walk on nothing else, the Alamosa is perfect for city walking. There is no moisture inside the shoe when it rains, and the shoe looks very good, and is easy to maintain with no need to buff or clean when walking on wet streets. This is my second pair of Keen WP, and I love this upgrade on last years version, and look forward to next years upgrade.

  • Nice shoe, but DO NOT think it will fit like the Keen Targhee IIs December 26, 2011

Nice shoe, no doubt. The only reason I bought these was because I absolutely love my Keen Targhee II Mid boots that I use for AT hiking, and I assumed these would fit the same. They absolutely do not! I wanted a rugged shoe for day to day stuff and the occasional short hike with the family. The Targhee II's are known for being wider than the norm (even in non-wide sizes), and I have wide feet. If these came in a wide size, I'd probably be in business.

Great fitting, good looking, and very comfortable shoe. Have yet to test them on a rough hiking trail but am confident they will perform as well or better than my current (but getting worn out) Keen hikers.

Good well built shoe. I have a B width foot and it fits better than other brands. Like it a lot.
