I bought these shoes for my granddaughter because the chunky shoes she had been wearing were not flexible enough for a toddler to develop her balance. Keds had been the sneaker of choice for her mother and I, and now we have passed that on to a third generation. She immediately began moving better and faster in these lightweight shoes. (Her mother and I are trying to remember that was what we wanted as we chase her.)The shoes are much sturdier than the cloth Keds I remember, but still flexible. The attractiveness and dainty look of the shoe was a much appreciated added value feature. We have received many compliments and questions of "Where did you get those?"One part of the Keds design that I had forgotten, however, was the narrower depth of shoe immediately over the toes. Even with the toe cap, this space is barely adequate. With ingrown toenails haunting both sides of her family tree, I imagine we will need the room of a more square-toed shoe design as she grows. [Sadly.] But right now they are perfect and I expect her to run them smooth before she grows out of them.

Reviewer: Betty from Gilbert, AZ. Keds have been my FAVORITE SHOE SENSE HIGH SCHOOL. My personal problem is that I have very long and narrow feet. This makes it very hard to buy shoes that fit properly. I actually wear a 12 1/2 N. I wore a 12 N in the past, but I will cut a hole in the toe in a week, so I decided to get the 13 N. It is a bit wide, but I am not cutting a hole in the toe. The only thing I would wish is that they came in a 12 1/2 N or the 13 be more narrow would also work. I still love them and would buy them again.

This is my 2nd pair of these, and I initially purchased them for a cruise so I could have comfortable walking shoes that did not require socks. They were perfect! I am a fan of keds canvas & leather shoes anyway, and these are probably my favorite of all their shoes.
