This shoe is very comfortable and exactly what I was looking for. I have wide feet and love the look of J&M shoes, but almost never fit in them. I fit in these.Pros: comfortable, wide, very small break in period.Cons: shoes dig into ankels a little. This lessens with wear, but heel risers also would fix the problem. I've owned J&M in the past, but these really do not like water. I wore them while it was on and off misting and they would have been completely ruined if I had not noticed and changed shoes. The other J&M shoes I own are not nearly as sensitive.
Wears this shoe: Work, nice dinners, etc.

I've had the mahagony color stricklin for a year. Once it scuffs it's permanent. I've tried going to a Johnston&Murphy store and letting them apply J&M products. Nothing covers. The shoe is not scratched or cut, just scuff marks on the toe and heel. Nothing will stick to the scuff; it surprised the J&M employee. They are comfortable but, beware of the scuffs and creases in the leather.

I felt wider than a normal 13, but that was fine because I usually wear a 13 wide.

Bought two pairs of J&M Harding Panel Lace Ups both in size 10.5 W which fit perfectly. I decided to go with a different style since the leather/rubber sole combo on the Hardings are extremely slippery and had to be replaced with rubber in both instances. These Stricklin Moc Lace Ups are MUCH Wider and become much more so with very little wear. I definitely did not need a wide size here but I needed to wear them the day they arrived to attend a business function. I will now either have to replace these or add some sort of insert to make them fit properly.
