Very comforable and wearable out of the box. The only complaint is they ran about a half size larger, which is annoying. I've have bought several pairs of J&M shoes over the years and likely won't buy this style again, every other pair fit perfectly and of high quality.

I have rebuilt many brands of shoes over 38 years and chose J.M. vauter penny loafer because of it's excellent quality. It has high grade calf skin, fully leather lined, fine stitching, and the rubber inserts in the sole and heel for better wear and slip resistence. I'm very proud to own this stylish and elegant shoe, it's a great value, and would recommend them to a friend. Years from now I know they will be easily rebuilt (if needed).Though it's made in India there is nothing substandard about it. Affordable.

Hard to find Johnson and Murphy dress shoes...not only was I able to buy one pair, I got another pair. Shoes fit perfectly and look good.
