The shoe feels great. I have thought a couple of times during my first week of wearing these, "these shoes are really comfortable." There is no breaking in period, unless you count the first steps out of the house and then into the office. Don't settle for less, you'll be glad you spent a bit extra to get this kind of quality.

Most Johnston & Murphy Faulkner shoes are well-made and long lasting. The Italian made versions seem to be more stylish and sturdy.Needless to say, I am pleased with my purchase.

My second pair of Faulkners, one in chestnut and now one in black. Great lace-up shoe with a nice, thick sole and heel. I like that these look substantial when pairing with slacks an oxford and a sport coat. Well made, comfortable right out of the box, and good looking.
