The heel is shiny silver which I didn't realize when I looked at the picture. I bought these to wear to work. Luckily, my office is more casual so these are fine (at my previous job, which was more strict, silver heels would be a no no). They're taller than 1 3/4", closer to 2 1/2". They're unlike any other shoes I've worn. The soles do not lay entirely flat on the ground, so when I first walked in them, I wobbled. However, with a little practice, I can walk comfortably in these shoes. They're not the best heels that I've had, but they're no where near the worst, either. I'd classify these as middle of the road. For the price, they're a good value.

I LIKE THE STYLE AND COLOR, The heel was a bit higher than I thought and so need to get used to that.
