I have never worn any supports or inserts although I do have flat feet. I purchased these because more of the casual winter boots for snow do not really have a good foot/arch support system in the foot bed. The MINUTE I put these inserts in it was love at first step!!! I chose the appropriate ones for my arch type - flat and I am planning on purchasing a couple more for my many pairs of casual boots.

These are for my husband. He says they take a little time getting used to,because of the water-like substance in them adjusting to your feet's pressure points.. He's still wearing them and hasn't complained about his feet or back hurting anymore!! Will buy again!
