I had a very bad accident with multiple broken bones in my foot. Had 3 very involved surgeries. I am left unable to work. And I thought unable to walk. I ordered 18 different hiking boots thru mail order. These are the only boots/shoes that have allowed me to walk. I bought 3 pairs to rotate them & have worn them exclusively for 18 months . This pretty much says it all about support and comfort.

I have had this shoe for a year. It still is not broken in. The leather is very stiff and uncomfortable. The shoe is built well but not the best for hiking and I am a experienced hiker. The leather does not flex enough and rubs around the ankles. The shoes cannot be laced tight around the ankles to keep debris from getting in. The leather is just too stiff. I am very disappointed.

Excellent boots from an excellent manufacturer. This is the second pair of Lowa boots I've owned, and I'll always get Lowa from now on. These boots in particular are as light as feathers and just as comfortable. The height of the boot makes for a very secure fit and ankle support is ample. Highly recommended winter boot.
Wears this shoe: Whenever I'm outside in the countryside in cold weather.

I previously own a pair of vasque hiking boots and from my experience they provide great foot protection and are very durable. They may be a tad heavy but they more than make up for it in support and comfort. I bought these online using paypal and failed to use the discount code. After making a phone call, a charge back credit reduced my billed price by 25% with no problems whatsoever. I guess the only real drawback for these boots is that they require several weeks break-in period before extended use.
Wears this shoe: Wearing them a few hours everyday to break-in for AT thru hike this spring.

I love these boots. I ordered my 2nd pair a year ago. I bought my first boots four years ago. I hike every weekend (close to the mountains). I wear these boots year around. They are not too hot in the summer. Waterproof for the spring, winter, and fall. There is not a break in period. The boots are so comfortable the first time you put them on and thereafter. They are 1/2 size too large even if you wear thick socks. I highly recommend these boots.
