These shoes have a waterproof nubuck leather and mesh upper, ion-mask waterproof technology, it has ultra lightweight rustproof hardware, molded rubber toe cap and heel for protection, moisture wicking lining, and V-Lite design and build technology. The insole has Comfort-Tec contoured sockliner, outsole has Stabila-Flex, contoured thermo-plastic bi-fit board, V-Lite compression molded EVA midsole, and V-Lite MDT carbon rubber hiking outsole.

I broke this boot in for 3 weeks taking short 2-4 mile hikes, before I went to Yosemite to hike Half Dome. This shoe did not fail me. There was about 2-4 feet of snow on the last mile up to the base of Half Dome when I went last week and this shoe kept my feet dry! Starts off a little stiff, so even though it's not full leather, I think it's best to break these boots in prior to any long hikes. Very nice boot, would buy another pair if I had to!
