This is a great shoe for the price. Nice support, not too heavy.

Shoes seem to be well constructed and look and feel good. I haven't hiked in them much as yet, but I like the fit and design. Leather upper with side vents seem to be a good combination for my needs. They didn't require any breaking in.

Nice boot for the money (on sale)

I bought this boot because it was available in wide widths and had a lug sole and the price was right. I wear 10.5W.The width was perfect. With regular socks the length is good. With thicker socks, they feel a bit short. 11's would be too big so I will just wear them with regular-weight socks. I bought these primarily to do yard work, cut grass, etc. The cheapy Wally World (Walmart) boots I had been buying had super soft soles that wear out very fast. I have had these boots about six months. Likes: Price, very comfortable right out of the box, soles have good grip and seem to wear well. Dislikes: HiTec does not proclaim these to be waterproof. Actually, I find them to be sponge-like. Even walking through just wet grass leads to wet socks. The uppers soak up the water very quickly. I do not recommend these boots in the presence of moisture. Spend the extra money for the waterproof HiTecs. Other dislikes: I have high arches, these boots have minimal arch support. I need to buy aftermarket inserts (Superfeet, etc). The footboard (or whatever you call it)under the insole is just cardboard fastened in place. Seems very cheap and deteriorates/shreds when the boot gets wet inside (which it will unless you live in the desert). Also, the tongue is not quite tall enough. The laces seems to ride above it when you tie them. Another half inch of tongue with a lace loop would cure that.
Wears this shoe: Mostly for yard work a few hours a week.
