Product Description (Women's Hi-Tec Altitude IV Insulated)
This shoe has a waterproof (seam-sealed) nubuck leather upper and a soft padded leather collar with a fully gusseted tongue.
It has 200g Thinsulate® insulation and rustproof brass hardware.
There is a lightweight compression-molded EVA midsole and a steel shank for added rigidity.
These boots also feature a durable carbon rubber outsole and a comfort-tec removable sockliner.

I needed a pair of hiking boots because I hike for 2-5 miles several times a week, rain, snow, sleet, or hail. These boots are very waterproof, just as they say (the water bounces right off of them), and they are fairly comfortable. They are also very warm so do not plan on wearing them in the summer. They are a little narrow on me, I would do better with a wide. They will be excellent for next winter. I would recommend them, like I said, the narrowness is the size I ordered, not the boot itself, they fit like a normal size 11 boot.

These boots fit like a glove. They are warm and comfortable. They are exactly what I was looking for in a winter boot, warmth, comfort and dry toes.

Good boots for walking

In general these boots are excellent and feels good for walking. The only problem I have with these is that they are a little snug around the ankles and on the instep. In other words I can't really lace them up that tight. The width and size is good. Good quality but I only started to use them a few weeks ago. We will see when the snow and cold weather comes.

I have Rheumatoid Arthritis in my ankles and feet. For a while I was in a wheelchair because walking was too painful, then I found my first pair of Hi-Tec Altitude boots. I've been back on my feet ever since and haven't worn anything other than Hi-Tec boots for 6 years. I even had to wear these to my daughter's wedding, don't laugh, and at least I was standing!
Wears this shoe: Whenever I leave the house.
