Love the hat. Heavy rugged leather (not really for warm weather), great shape,true cowboy. The leather is distressed just enough to make the hat look like a favorite, but not too old. So why only four stars? The hat runs a bit small, maybe half a size. Also, the holes for the chin strap, are about an inch out from the crown, through the brim, rather than the more usual where the the brim meets the crown. Accordingly, the holes, one on each side, are easily seen, but not really too noticable.Four stars because I like the hat very much and I am planning on ordering the same hat in black. When the cooler weather hits, I will be wearing them every day.

I was looking for a hat that would protect me from the elements, that the elements couldn't hurt, and that looked good. I've owned one leather hat that sort of fit this description, but it was very lightweight and stained easily. I came across the Henschel 1154 Weekend Walker on line and immediately liked the style and color. My only concern was whether it would be durable. As soon as it was delivered my concerns vanished. The leather is heavy but soft and supple and holds its shape beautifully. The fit is excellent. I've worn it in downpours and stayed dry, snow storms and stayed warm, bright sun and stayed cool. I continue to receive compliments on it. I'm sold on Henschel hats. I don't expect to ever wear this one out, and will probably order one with a ventilated crown for summer hiking.
