| | About Handwear: |
|---|
| | | Handwear refers to articles of apparel designed to cover the hand and wrist. The most common handwear articles are gloves, muffs, and mittens. Gloves are made from a wide variety of materials and are used generally to provide protection from the cold, skin protection from friction and/or enhance dexterity and grip such as the case of golf and baseball gloves. Muffs and mittens are tube-like handwear made of warm and insulating materials which can be both open or closed at one end. |

Marmot Connect Glove
Just What I Was Looking For
March 15, 2013
Reviewer: Dave from Wichita, KS
What I like:Lightweight yet warm, soft, sleek, stylish, and comfortable. I am picky about gloves. I do not like big bulky gloves because I loathe taking them off to grab items out of my wallet or to use my smartphone. My disdain of big gloves tends to hamper the warmth factor because usually the thinner the less insulation offered. Not so much in this case, they provide adequate insulation (used as low as the 20 degree Fahrenheit range) for brief ventures outside. The touchscreen friendly finger tips work sufficiently on my phone, and the grips on the palm work well for grasping steering wheels, doorknobs, and other various day-to-day objects. What I don't like:Slight pilling occurred after just two weeks.

The North Face Montana Mitt
Good Gloves

I just received these, so I haven't had a chance to test them in really cold weather yet, but they seem like they would do well. They have good insulation, but it is not super thick (the next warmer model of Northface gloves costs $120, and I just did not want to pay that much). I think they will do very well in wind and rain because the outer layer seems very durable and windproof. I am using warm glove liners to add insulation for really cold weather, and because I like to have glove liners on my hands, so they are not exposed when I take my mittens off to do something.

I love these leather mittens with a glove lining. Not only do they keep your hands warm but it is easier to pick up things without having to take them off. I purchased a pair about 5 years ago and was very happy to find them on ShoeBuy.

Great gloves. I use them when shoveling snow, using the snow blower, outdoor cold-weather work. The gloves run about one size larger than normal. If you need a large glove, try the medium - it will be plenty large enough.

The North Face TNF Insulated Apex Glove
never go wrong with TNF

These gloves definitely keep your hands warm and aren't horrible to drive in either. They are kinda bulky and would have liked something more slim. I would definitely recommend to anybody looking for gloves that can handle long periods of time outside in very cold weather.
