I couldn't see for certain if the sole of this slipper was rubber or similar material. It is and it wraps around the slipper about 1/2 inch. I really like this feature since it helps keep the wool dry if I step outside with the slippers on. I have very wide feet yet this slipper adapts to my foot.

This pair of Haflingers slippers, called "Champions", are the first HARD SOLE slippers I have purchased. They are somewhat heavier and not as easy to slide along the floor like I usually do....however, I bought them so I could wear them outdoors if I had to go in the yard.

This slipper is very comfortable and attractive - felt true to size and has the great Haflinger support. My only complaint is that the black rubber sole leaves black marks on my wood floors. They rub out easily, but would get a slipper with a different sole next time.

This year I bought these hard-soled slippers and I absolutely love them!They're very comfortable, warm but not hot, and I think the harder sole will wear better on my tiled and hardwood floors. I also love them because I can wear them when I go out to get the newspaper, no matter what the weather. I have a very hard time finding comfortable shoes and I always have had ultra-sensitive feet. Back in my youth, when I bought many more shoes than I do now, the men in the shoe stores deemed me to be the girl with the "Princess and the Pea" feet. Now I've added arthritis in my toes and ankles, along with Plantar Fasciitis and a Neuroma. I can wear these slippers without my orthotics and they're great.I usually wear a 39 in Haflingers but because people said these were running small, I bought a size 40 and it worked out perfectly.

Extremely comfortable slippers....my third pair of Haflingers...good arch support for my feet....snug fit when new, but the boiled wool does stretch with wear...they seem to last about a year and a half and then my big toe wears through
