I cannot wear the traditional lace up shoes because of a problem with the top of my foot. With the velcro, I can easily adjust the amount of pressure that goes across the top of my foot. Wears this shoe: Whenever I am in jeans or shorts.

The grasshopper is much better sized than previous years, though. As I recall, it used to run extremely large.
	Grasshoppers Stretch Plus Lace Comfortable Out of the Box March 10, 2013 Reviewer: Diane from Northeast, PA I went with this brand, since having purchased Grasshopper sneakers previously. I normally wear a size 8 1/2 W but decided to go a half size larger (9 W) because I wanted black, but not available in my size. I feel that the half size bigger still fits very well and was not too big.Sneakers are comfortable out the box, although I do feel they could have put in a better insole. This really was of no consequence to me because I had planned to replace the existing insoles with a pair of Spenco insoles as advised by my podiatrist due to my foot problems. Shoes are very kind to your feet and can be worn all day long without foot pain. Almost as comfortable as slippers! Wears this shoe: Almost daily
