Gramicci

Gramicci has been the soulful, free spirited, brand of the outdoor industry for the past thirty years. In 1982, an accomplished master climber designed the iconic G-Climbing Pant and Short. It's engineered gusset crotch and one hand, easy cinch and release nylon belt/buckle system created what is now the archetype of design and function for climbing and now every outdoor activity. But the soul of the brand came from something more. The very first production of G-pants and shorts were un-dyed white and dirtbaggers/rock climbers and surfers took them home and RIT dyed their G's in whatever colors that expressed their independent personalities. Pink, purple, neon orange, tie dyed, splattered; this act gave birth to what has become an ongoing underground cult following of hundreds of thousands of Gramicci heads all over the world. More than just a product, Gramicci represents an expression of personal independence and individuality. Over 30 years later, Gramicci is still setting the standard for performance climbing and outdoor apparel with its introduction of NPT Natural Performance Technology, a pesticide/herbicide-free, certified organic and hemp blended endurance knit that naturally produces higher levels of moisture management, breathability and body temperature regulation than synthetics and the new chemically treated performance cottons. Deeply committed to greener manufacturing, Gramicci continues to research and adopt new standards of manufacturing that reduce its impact on the environment. Its organic products have received certification from GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard), OE Blended (Organic Exchange for blended fabrics) and OE 100 (Organic Exchange for all organic fabrics). As an ongoing environmental and social initiative, in 2007 Gramicci introduced Start Somewhere.
