This shoe is advertised as being appropriate for city and country and they are right. I got the darker (mud) colored shoe and when worn with a nice pair of pants looks very nice and low key for a casual evening out on the town. Yet it also has comfort, stiffness, breathability and a good nubby sole for day hiking. If you plan to go on a trip where you want to bring only one pair of shoes for light hiking and spending time in town, these are a great choice.
