I recently bought a pair and took on a scout summer camp in Califonia's southern Serra mountains. I found the boots to be an overall good hiking boot with good traction on rocks reasonably water proof. They don't breath as well as I would like so feet are particulalry sweaty in them. I liked the ankle support. Qualtiy seems good. They are not light weight which is a small issue unless carrying a heavy load then you want the boots to be as light weight as possible. They pick up dust easily in the seams compared to the typical rubber glued seams of many lesser boots, althoguh I suspect this is typical of boots with sewn seam between the upper portion to the bottom soles. kicking up dust was a problem on the trail for me. I would recommend them to others provided they don't have a foot sweating problem already. Smelly feet in a day then smelly boots in two.
