GBX 16750 Very Nice, But Initially Too Small/Tight

The GBX 16750A Liga Leather Sandals are very good looking and appear to be well made. The leather is rather thin but feels very substantial. The appearance and finish of the leather is excellent. The sandals soles have medium density rubber/composite soles. As such, the sandals are very light in weight. The soles are just thick enough to bode well for the sandals longevity.Meanwhile, I almost freaked out when I first tried to slip on the GBX sandals while wearing thin athletic socks- I could not get my feet into them! I then tried them on barefoot- I was able to get the sandals 4/5th's of the way on with some wrenching of each foot. I was thinking I was going to have to return them and get a 1/2 size larger. However, now I'm thinking the sandals will stretch out quickly given the thin leather of the uppers. All my past leather sandals have stretched out after several initial wearings. The GBXLeather Sandals are great in that they are have 100% leather footbeds and uppers- There are no man made materials that contact the feet! This excellent and I specifically chose these sandals for that fact. 100% leather sandals are 10 fold more resistant to becoming smelly than sandals with synthetic fabrics/materials. Every pair of sandals with synthetic materials I have owned were notoriously prone to ending up smelling like corpses and thus becoming unwearable. All in all I think these are great sandals if they end up stretching out... I'll write again to let you know.
