Very pleased with the style and quality. Higher quality of leather than average and comfortable on first wearing. Not too shiney but may obtain higher gloss with just a little more polishing. Very good support. Plain toe allows for dressing up or down in my opinion.

The Florsheim Imperial is a very classic shoe. It will wear for years and be very comfortable. (I think the older models had cork inside the sole but I don't think this is currently the case - too bad.) The inner sole will conform to your feet and add comfort. The leather sole is outstanding. However, the soles will wear out sooner and you will have to half-sole them. Another option is to have a vibram sheet glued the the sole and that works great. They take a shine very nicely and look great. I have had many pairs. The "Wine" color is a bit more brown that I expected.

This shoe is advertised as having a full leather lining, that being the case these shoes come up short only having a half leather lining from the heel to the arch area. I purchased this same shoe for 14 years of a 21 year military career and they were completely leather lined. I love the shoe but am disappointed in the lining.

Excellent shoes. Only problem is the slightly crooked tongue on the right shoe. This is the second pair that suffers from this. Otherwise, best arch support I've ever experienced in a shoe that wasn't a trainer (sneaker to our American friends).
    Wears this shoe: For work.

This is good medium-quality shoe at a good price. I e-mailed Florsheim and they confirmed that the "Heritage Calf" is a full grain leather. It is finished with a high-gloss finish, but they claim it is not corrected-grain. This shoe looks a heck of a lot like an Alden Barrie lasted shell cordovan, but I paid less than $200. Quality is not the same, but the shoe fits my somewhat narrow foot better than the Alden. I love the old-scool 360 degree welting and chunky double sole. These are real gunboats and proud of it. Stitching and other construction details are good but not perfect. Shortcuts are evident in the foam rather than cork footbed and the construction of lining. Still for a shoe that you can get for $175 shipped, you're definitely getting your money's worth. The "wine" color is the perfect shade of cordovan.
Wears this shoe: Work 2-3 times a week
