Looks, comfort and quality
By George, from Alabama | September 08, 2012
Very pleased with the style and quality. Higher quality of leather than average and comfortable on first wearing. Not too shiney but may obtain higher gloss with just a little more polishing. Very good support. Plain toe allows for dressing up or down in my opinion.

A classic - buy it
By Scott, from Minneapolis, Minnesota | May 10, 2012
The Florsheim Imperial is a very classic shoe. It will wear for years and be very comfortable. (I think the older models had cork inside the sole but I don't think this is currently the case - too bad.) The inner sole will conform to your feet and add comfort. The leather sole is outstanding. However, the soles will wear out sooner and you will have to half-sole them. Another option is to have a vibram sheet glued the the sole and that works great. They take a shine very nicely and look great. I have had many pairs. The "Wine" color is a bit more brown that I expected.

Wears this shoe: Have not worn it as of this date.
By Thomas, from Alabama | December 15, 2011
This shoe is advertised as having a full leather lining, that being the case these shoes come up short only having a half leather lining from the heel to the arch area. I purchased this same shoe for 14 years of a 21 year military career and they were completely leather lined. I love the shoe but am disappointed in the lining.

Watch out for the crooked tongue.
By Rob, from Reading, England | November 12, 2011
Excellent shoes. Only problem is the slightly crooked tongue on the right shoe. This is the second pair that suffers from this. Otherwise, best arch support I've ever experienced in a shoe that wasn't a trainer (sneaker to our American friends).

Good shoe; good price
By Gabriel, from Idaho | July 12, 2011
This is good medium-quality shoe at a good price. I e-mailed Florsheim and they confirmed that the "Heritage Calf" is a full grain leather. It is finished with a high-gloss finish, but they claim it is not corrected-grain. This shoe looks a heck of a lot like an Alden Barrie lasted shell cordovan, but I paid less than $200. Quality is not the same, but the shoe fits my somewhat narrow foot better than the Alden. I love the old-scool 360 degree welting and chunky double sole. These are real gunboats and proud of it. Stitching and other construction details are good but not perfect. Shortcuts are evident in the foam rather than cork footbed and the construction of lining. Still for a shoe that you can get for $175 shipped, you're definitely getting your money's worth. The "wine" color is the perfect shade of cordovan.

Just what I expected and wanted.
By Dan, from Minnesota | May 18, 2011
This is a classic shoe, and the day I took it out of the box, I wore it for 17 hours at work with no pain and no disappointment. The finish is perfect, the lining is excellent, and the support is ideal. People would have a lot fewer foot problems if this was the only type shoe worn!

Best Dress Shoe--Very comfortable
By Todd, from Omaha, NE | January 28, 2011
In short, this is worth the money. I have never paid over $100 for a shoe, but was glad I spent the money on this shoe. I've worn many different oxford shoes in my 23-year Navy career and this is easily the best. It was comfortable right out of the bos and took very little wear to "break them in." The bottom is all leather, which adds to the comfort. **note: You will want to purchase some non-skid stickers (very cheap to purchase) for the bottom, since they are slick.

Great Shoes.
By Jim, from Woodhaven, MI | November 13, 2010
Great shoes, very comfortable. Perfect for business & casual. I ordered size 10 1/2 D, delivered as 11D. Waxed shoe laces were useless, immediately went and purchased cloth laces.
