Have 2 pair of Essex and 1 pair of Chatmans. I like the older Chatman a bit more than Essex--the older Chatman had a slightly less squared-off toe. With the bicycle toe it it looks better on me because I have small feet(6 1/2-7). Have a high instep but E widths are too loose. Essex and Chatman feel about the same. May help to stretch a bit. Today's Newer Chatman is not quite as stylish for me. I love the Black or Dark Cherry in either one..Have one each black and one Essex in cherry. Pairs are resolable(Vibram sole) locally for about $55 or about the half cost of new.Both are comfortably cool even summer, and cozy in winter. They feel great to put on but also good to take off at the end of the day. To me, the only shortcomings are: 1/the slick leather sole that has to be sanded back--I would gladly pay $10-$15 more for Vibram type.2/ I wish they came in a deep burgundy/cordovan. Had a pair way back in 1980's, and glad I've come back to them in last 6-7 years.Like a Jeep or pickup truck, once you try them you'll wonder how you did without.

I have always liked the "dress boot" style and this particular product is excellent quality for the price, very easy to slip in and out of with the side zipper and looks excellent.

This is a stylish, classy dress boot made from excellent quality leather. I have bought many Florsheim dress boots over the years, and have never been disappointed with support or quality.
Wears this shoe: I will wear these boots with dress pants or a suit.
