Reasonably satisfied February 26, 2013

I was looking for a nice all-purpose black, leather shoe, and got it. It looks slightly less elegant than the image, specifically that the 3E width makes it look a bit clunky. It fits reasonably well, but is slightly oversized to the extent that they are a bit too big unless worn with wool socks. If you are on the fence regarding width, it would seem best to underestimate slightly.

overall good value, but needs improvement September 29, 2012

Love the shoe, comfortable, and sharp looking. Compares well to shoes that cost much, much more. My only complaint is that my recent Florsheim purchases have had low quality insoles. The fabric separates and gathers between your toes...rather annoying. I can take them to my local cobbler/shoe repair joint and get the insoles replaced rather inexpensively, but that is an annoyance I'd rather do without. This was not always the case with Florsheim shoes, so I hope they see the error of their ways and return to a higher quality insole.

Why? August 25, 2012
Reviewer: RayMc from Tyler, Texas
I liked the styling of the shoe. It has a rubber/foam sole of some sort that feels a little cheap. It's very flexible shoe, which for my feet is not a positive thing. On the sides of the shoe (by the laces) there are little slits that are connected by elastic. It's hard to explain, but basically it makes it harder to really tighten your shoes. When I tie my shoes, I really pull hard on the laces to give a tight fit. On these shoes, you can pull hard, but those elastic slits will 'give' and basically loosen the fit of the shoe. My question to Florsheim is...'why'? This is such a peculiar feature that I've never seen on a shoe. I have been desperately searching for a cordovan or red tinted mahogany dress shoe and this is the closest thing I could find after searching for months. That being said, I live with the negatives of this shoe. Other than the above, it's a fine shoe.
