After buying myself a pair of these rainboots and finding they fit perfectly with my custom orthotics (I have rheumatoid arthritis), I bought a pair for my sister who has a narrow foot and narrow heel, but a very wide "toe box" due to years of martial arts training (being barefoot). She is also short (5 feet), so full length boots always hit her too high to comfortably bend her knees and ankle boots don't keep her legs and feet dry. These mid-height boots are perfect for easy and free movement while staying dry. They are sturdy enough to provide structure and support but soft enough to expand/stretch for thicker socks, if needed, or in her case, a wide "toe box." They fit true to size. And, they are cute and fun to wear.

I wanted to replace my very cool rain boots. Then, I found these CHIX BLACK BETTY charmers. They are really well sealed and have thick tread, and, unlike others I have tried, they don't scrape against my calf with a rough edge. Now I am enjoying the freedom to step off half-submerged curbs and splash my way through pothole puddles while keeping my fashion sense in tact.
Wears this shoe: On rainy days and with a felt or wool insert, hopefully in snow as well.

I tried on at least a dozen name brand rain boots this year and they were all too wide and/or ran 1-2 sizes bigger with very wide tops. These boots run true-to-size; I got the exact same size as I do in running shoes. I have arthritis and have to wear custom-made orthotics. The orthotics slipped into the rain boots perfectly. I got the lower-cut boot because the tall boots are too wide at the top (so rain just went down the top of the boot) and although most of my height is in my legs, the tall boots hit too high on my leg to make walking and sitting comfortable. (I'm 5 ft 4 in and 100 lbs). These boots are completely waterproof, but do not get "hot". They are soft, but sturdy enough that they do not "waffle" or wiggle around, and hold my orthotic snugly in place. There is enough "give" so when my joints are swollen there is still enough room. The price is right. The only thing that would make the boot perfect is if the top was a little narrower. 5 stars.
