I generally don't like buying the same shoe in multiple colors, but when I needed a pair of brown sandals, I tried 3 other shoes and finally broke down and bought this shoe. I own the Ecco Wave in black, bought 2.5 years ago, worn all over Italy on a 4 week trip, and still looking good. They wear like iron, look good, aren't clunky like a lot of comfort sandals. They didn't require any break-in period, but the leather is firm, not soft, so if you can't adjust the straps properly, you might need time to break them in.

I recently broke my ankle and have been unable to wear shoes without a back strap. I have been wearing another Ecco shoe that is very casual and I needed something to wear to work. This shoe fits the bill. It is better styled for that purpose. However it is not as comfortable as the more casual shoe but it works fine for 7 hours a day. I am sold on the Ecco shoe brand and look for them when I visit shoe stores.

This sandal is very comfortable. I would have liked to see it in nubuck, but the leather is fine. It can look dressy or casual. I like it so much, in fact, that I will probably try to order another pair.
Wears this shoe: Whenever I want a sandal - to walk to dog, shop, go out to dinner or whatever.

I wore the sandals on my recent trip and I found them to be very comfortable. I particularly like the arch support which my feet need. The velcro grip around the ankle tended to become loose after a few hours of continuous walking and I had to readjust the strap.
Wears this shoe: When touring and shopping, also on the plane.
